Text a iné fetiše je názov autorskej knihy textov a fotografií, ktorá vznikla ako akýsi vedľajší produkt projektu Ostrovy nikoho venovaného vzniku moderných cintorínov v Európe začiatkom 19. storočia.
Text and Other Fetishes is the title of the authorial book of texts and photographs, which was created as a by-product of the project Islands of Nobody dedicated to establishment of modern cemeteries in Europe in the early 19th century.
Zatiaľ čo texty pozostávajú z úvah, postrehov, výpiskov, citátov a mikroesejí tematizovaných prevažne smrťou, fotografie predstavujú sériu autoportrétov, náhodných, či aranžovaných zátiší a kompozícií, či iných záznamov, a môžu byť považované za akýsi vizuálny denník čiastočne sledujúci líniu umeleckého výskumu v rámci projektu Ostrovy nikoho.
While the texts consist of reflections, observations, extracts, quotes and micro-essays focused mainly on death, the photographs represent a series of self-portraits, random or arranged still lifes and compositions, or other records, and can be considered a kind of visual diary partially following the line of artistic research of the project Islands of Nobody.
Pendantom k autorskej knihe je dvojica zošitov s poznámkami, ktoré slúžili často ako podklady pre jednotlivé texty publikované v knihe. Vnímam ich ako umelecké diela, ktoré, okrem toho, že sú tiež grafickým (kresebným) záznamom, hovoria o procese vývoja projektu Ostrovy nikoho.
Pendant to the authorial book is a pair of notebooks with notes, which often served as the basis for individual texts published in the book. I perceive them as works of art which, in addition to being a graphic (drawing) record, speak of the process of developing the project Islands of Nobody.
